the Valley of Shadow

Eric Ferris has been writing rhyming poetry and prose short stories for over sixty years. He has contributed to numerous small publications and zines throughout his life. He now believes it is time to make his entrance on the 'big stage.' Resting upon strong, Victorian foundations this is a selection of his very darkest works. Within it are included thirty seven lavish illustrations in a black and white monochrome, summoned up from his sombre mind. A menacing and shocking autobiographical snapshot ends the book. He asked me to include this poem, so as to give an insight into the book's contents: Rhyming poetry, disturbing themes, Ferris is stuck in nightmare dreams. A fallen angel, climate change. Suicide in a Victorian Grange. Nonsense poems, scary facts. > A famous folly on the Isle of Wight. A raven's message, carried mid-flight. King Arthur and the big reveal, > 'A footfall echoes in a wooded glade. Dark eyes glisten in a sea of jade. From the centre of gloom rears an ugly tree, > Down in the valley, 'The Valley of the Shadow.' Down in the valley, > All this and more is inside this book. >Every topic covered is short and discrete, making it ideal for those who like to read, but can only spare a few minutes here and there as you flow along the meandering stream towards the frightening conclusion. Please note: All of the poems and writings in this book were written by the author. No part of any of the poems or other writings within this book were generated by using AI or any other electronic or mechanical device, in order keep the reader's enjoyment, while still keeping the product's cost to a minimum, heavily edited, modified and creatively arranged AI has been used in some of the illustrations.
