The Veils of Illusion

At times we feel that our lives must have a higher purpose and we long to connect to our individual truth. Should our life’s challenges become extremely difficult to bear, we might refer to it as the dark night of the soul. Sophia, a young woman who feels trapped and disillusioned with her life, decides to embark on a journey through the dark night of the soul in her quest for freedom and greater meaning. ‘To be truly free, you have to face yourself’, the wise old man of the forest tells Sophia early on in her journey. The Veils of Illusion is an allegory; a mystical journey in which Sophia undergoes many tests and trials, encountering unique and intriguing characters, each providing her with the often arduous task of learning greater wisdom. Yet Sophia’s ultimate goal is to meet her Shadow self – that which has been hidden away for so long – in her courageous search for truth and wholeness.
