After years on the run across the multiverse, I'd genuinely hoped the quiet coastal town of Arkley would be the perfect place to finally settle down.I just wanted somewhere to take it easy on the morning school run, to pile the marshmallows high into the hot chocolate, and to enjoy a few high-stakes games of Keepy Uppy with my daughter, Edie.Oh, and being able to keep my Supremacy-grade magic strictly hidden away wouldn't go amiss either.But the powers-that-be had to go and make life complicated, didn't they? You see, it turns out our new backyard sits right on top of a dimensional tear. Now we've got Abyssal monsters interrupting playtime, and my System interface nagging me to bring the sky-burning thunder. Again.It's all a bit of a hassle, to be honest.But I guess someone has to keep the neighborhood standing. And with a heavily armed government operative masquerading as my daughter's teacher, and a shapeshifting bear who bakes a brilliant scone on my side, I'm sure we'll get it sorted.Hopefully, before the world ends. Or the HOA fines me for the state of my lawn.
