At 26 years old, I never imagined breast cancer would become part of my story. After discovering a lump, I trusted my gut instincts when the first answer didn't feel right. I sought a second opinion. On August 9, 2017, I heard the words that changed everything: "You have breast cancer." What followed was a journey I never expected. After learning I carried the BRCA2 gene mutation, my cancer was Grade 3 and aggressive. I made the difficult decision to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. During surgery, doctors discovered another mass and cancer in four of seven lymph nodes. It showed me just how necessary that decision had been. Even after being told I was cancer-free, my fight continued. >I slowly realized that healing wasn't about becoming the woman I was before cancer. It was about learning to embrace the woman I had become. Through every diagnosis, surgery, setback, and uncertain moment; my faith in God anchored me. He didn't remove the storm, but HE never stopped carrying me through it. This is more than my story of breast cancer. It is my testimony of faith, survival, healing, and transformation. It reminds us that even when the weapon is formed against us, it does not have to prosper. Cancer changed my life. But it did not define me.
