Bol Two rival dynasties. One buried secret. A friendship that will decide the fate of a kingdom. On the eve of a royal wedding, a disgraced nobleman's desperate bid to reclaim his family's stolen crown sets in motion a betrayal that will bind two houses — the royal line of Renesbourg and the disinherited house of Zellberg — in a secret neither will ever fully know. Twenty years later, King Jean of Renesbourg and his closest friend, Baron Erich von Zellberg, are inseparable — until a jealous regent tries to tear them apart, and Erich answers with an armoured train, a company of loyal cavalry, and a coup that will make him a duke. Spanning two world wars and two generations, The Wild Boars of Zellberg follows Erich as he builds a fortune, a family, and a sovereign duchy carved from a mountain kingdom — travelling from a rented palace in Venice to an audience with Hitler himself, all to shield his son's inheritance from the century's gathering storm. When the war's end threatens to unravel everything he has built, Erich makes one final gamble: sheltering a band of Cossack refugees fleeing certain death, and staking his own life to secure his son's throne. A sweeping epic of loyalty, sacrifice, and the enduring claims of blood and honour, The Wild Boars of Zellberg is a novel about what a father will do — and what a man will give — to leave his son a kingdom worth inheriting. About the Author Richard Mingo Sweeney of Bolger’s Park (1922-2015) was born in Trochu, Alberta, Canada. In 1939, he joined the Canadian Army and later the Royal Canadian Navy and was commissioned a Lieutenant in 1942. He fought in the Battle of the Atlantic and was given command of the Port Security Guard in St. John's, Newfoundland from 1943-46. Following the war, he joined the Cadet Corps in Quebec and attained the rank of captain. After a career producing films, he moved to Pictou, Nova Scotia, and established The St. Suibhne Trust. A writer and historian, his publications include The Broken Sword; Sween (Suibhne), Clan of the Battle Axe: A Brief History of the MacSweeney Galloglass; and Scots Empire: Beinge the Storie of the Kingdom of Scotland’s Briefe Empire: the Lordship of Nova Scotia.
