The Wildcard

A fast-paced action thriller for fans of Die Hard, Reacher and Jack Ryan-but with a protagonist who was never supposed to be the action hero.Eli Mercer is not Jack Reacher. He's not John McClane. He's a luxury-hotel marketing manager. But when armed men take control of The Crown just days before its biggest event of the year, Eli finds himself trapped inside with Nico, a young bartender who chose a spectacularly bad day to spend time with Marketing.Eli knows the hotel better than almost anyone: guest floors, service corridors, forgotten rooms and back-of-house shortcuts nobody notices.Suddenly, all of it matters. As he moves through a building locked down by dangerous men, Eli realizes the takeover is not what it first appears to be-and somewhere inside The Crown is the real reason hundreds of people are being held there. One hotel. One lockdown. One very long night. The Wildcard is a grounded action thriller about survival, hidden motives, luxury hospitality and an ordinary professional forced very far outside his job description.
