Then Again

Thirty years in the future, Wasserman should be celebrating retirement. Instead, he begins to suspect that everything around him is coming apart.People are increasingly alienated, conspiracy theories dominate public discourse, and meaningful connections are up in the air. As the party for him draws near, two former acquaintances with deep ties to international power quietly reenter his life. At the same time, his wife appears increasingly entangled with shadowy global organizations and events she cannot fully explain.Meanwhile, a client developing a groundbreaking memory drug presents Wasserman with an extraordinary opportunity: the chance to revisit the past and reconnect with unfinished chapters of his life. But as memory, identity, and history begin to blur, he must confront larger questions about the future, the stories people tell themselves, and whether society has lost its ability to think beyond the present moment.Part satire, part speculative fiction, and part philosophical reflection, Then Again explores narcissism, memory, geopolitics, and humanity's complicated relationship with time. Wryly humorous and intellectually engaging, it offers both a sharp critique of modern culture and a hopeful meditation on what may still lie ahead.
