Thermal modeling of a residential villa constructed with stabilized concrete block: compressed earth bricks in the Dakar region

This research project takes an economic and environmental perspective. The objective of the work presented here is to propose a thermal model of a brick residential villa in the Dakar region in order to guide research into the proper mix ratios for manufacturing materials used in construction or renovation. Buildings are among the largest consumers of electricity in Senegal. This electricity is generated by thermal power plants that emit greenhouse gases. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, an energy efficiency program for buildings has been launched in Senegal. The project aims to develop energy-efficient practices in the construction of residential and commercial buildings in Senegal. To address this issue, we will demonstrate energy-efficient techniques in a residential building. Thus, a residential villa will be modeled in EnergyPlus. Energy efficiency measures for the building envelope and systems will be evaluated, and recommendations for the residential building will be made.
