In the context of a global environmental transition, where the management of sewage sludge is no longer a secondary issue but a major ecological and regulatory challenge-particularly in Morocco, where the rapid population growth in the city of Marrakesh and thethe implementation of increasingly strict standards are leading to a massive increase in the volume of particularly liquid sewage sludge produced by its activated sludge treatment plant-which was originally designed to treat a daily flow of $90\ 720\ \text{m}^3$ of wastewater, corresponding to the effluent from approximately 1,300,000 Population Equivalents- this research project is fully aligned with a sustainable development policy by proposing the implementation of solar drying as an innovative solution capable of drastically reducing the mass and volume of this waste in order to optimize and minimize the logistical costs associated with its storage, handling, and transport, a structured scientific approach centered first on an introductory chapter that addresses the universal challenge of disposing of these effluents in light of increasingly stringent European regulations.
