Thinking complexity with sociology: For a better understanding of complex social phenomena

Sociology has undergone many changes since its birth. The current era bears witness to the emergence of complex social phenomena. In order to highlight the multidimensional nature of these phenomena, it would be wise to opt for an interdisciplinary approach, capable of providing juxtaposed interpretations between the various specialties, from a holistic perspective, which takes into account the different dimensions of the phenomenon under study. Without claiming to be exhaustive, this book aims to clarify the perspectives of sociological research in the face of social phenomena that have become complex, as well as the conditions for dialogue with other disciplines, without calling into question the status of sociology.It also highlights the interfaces between sociology and other related disciplines, tracing the evolution of sociology towards the study of complex phenomena, while underlining the theoretical and methodological challenges that this orientation implies.
