Those Selected

Britain abandoned elections years ago.Instead, 650 ordinary citizens are selected at random to govern. The model was designed to be fair. Incorruptible. A democracy where wealth, influence and ambition could no longer buy power. But someone wants to tear it apart from within. When Kael Thornton is selected to serve as a Member of Parliament, he enters a life he never asked for. Inside Westminster, new friendships form, loyalties are tested, and Kael begins to discover that removing elections did not remove the people willing to manipulate power. Then the deaths begin.Drawn into a conspiracy reaching far beyond the corridors of government, Kael must decide who he can trust-and how far he is willing to go when those manipulating the system begin eliminating anyone who gets too close.Chosen by chance. Tested by choice. Those Selected is the debut novel from Jamie Payne, author of the Biggle-Dink and Dad Delivered series.
