It highlights the importance of the time factor in guaranteeing effective criminal justice that respects fundamental rights. The study examines the different phases of the criminal trial, including investigation, instruction and appeals, in order to assess the timeframes involved. The work highlights the consequences of these delays on the rights of litigants, in particular the right to be tried within a reasonable time. It analyzes existing legal mechanisms designed to regulate the length of criminal trials. The study also looks at the balance between the need for effective law enforcement and the protection of individual liberties.
