Time with Thay

I was introduced to Thich Nhat Hanh in the early 2000s by a friend in the pastoral care department of a local hospital. That friend also introduced me to mindfulness and meditation. Over the years, I've read many of the books Hanh has written as he taught and encouraged many to those practices.When I started writing poetry a few years ago, I was given the gift of a book of Hanh's poetry. As I read, I noted words, phrases, and lines that I was drawn to, and I later challenged myself to write poems based on those notes.This book is the result of a nearly year-long project of reading, mindfulness, and writing. It was an interesting journey.
