Touched By God

My book is a love story which starts with my origin and my beginnings in the UK with my birth family.Mum and dad. They were strict Irish catholics and so Religion played a big part in our family life.The story goes on to how I met my beautiful Maureen (wife to be) I was 17 and she was 15 we went out together for 2 years through that time we fell in love became engaged and then were married. We bought our first house together and settled for a while.We left England to emigrate to NZ .Five Weeks on board ship and Maureen pregnant . At this time I became asleep in my faith and did not practice for 14 years. During this time also our family Suzanne and Shawn arrived and grew.Out of the blue A strange thing happened .I had an encounter with God. This affected me greatly and I had this strong desire to practice my faith again . It was more than that though . It was as if God had a special reason for calling me. I left my Engineering job ,went to Teachers College and became a high school teacher. I did end up in a catholic school teaching Religious studies. All through this time especially , strange positive things began to happen . Really unexplainable circumstances, or was it God at work .All of this had a big effect on my lovely wife Maureen and our two children .However our family bond was solid and our love for each other became stronger as a consequence. Maureen and both our children were Baptised into the catholic faith which was such a special happening for our family. Maureen passed away in 2024 almost 2 years ago now I miss her so very much. Maureen always encouraged me to write about the happenings around that time mid 1980s and so as part of my grieving process I began to write. I dedicated the book to Maureen .She was such a special lady.
