Tracing Inferno: A Myrmecoleon Novel

The Myrmecoleon is dead. Nothing remains of the man beyond memories and the shadow he cast across the world. But the powers that be demand certainty, not memories. Corporal Zambrano, a young agnostic in Endeavor's military, is pulled from his sleep and ordered to deliver a mysterious parcel to the bottom of Hell, alone. Beneath the locks and sigils and secrets, the strange box contains something unspeakable; something so great and terrible, its existence alone serves as proof of the Myrmecoleon's death. And now, it's Zambrano's job to ferry it through a place where even Angels fear to tread. As Zambrano descends the nine circles of Hell, he confronts diverse shades, mythic demons, and the very forces that govern the afterlife. His journey unravels philosophical questions about the nature of power, suffering, and the human spirit. The answers to questions he never thought to ask are there, twisting beneath the ashes and shadows, but should they be brought into the light? What does it truly mean to sin, in the eyes of God?
