Transforming Mobility in Colombia's Central Region: A Strategic Focus on Bogotá: An Integrated Model of Transport Accessibility and Sustainable Development

"Improved Mobility and Transportation in Colombia's Central Region, with a Focus on Bogotá, D.C." is a research study that addresses the structural problem of mobility in the capital and the municipalities of Cundinamarca, where congestion, institutional fragmentation, and the lack of strategic megaprojects have limited socioeconomic development and territorial equity. The central question guiding this study is: How can mobility and transportation in Colombia's Central Region be improved through strategic partnerships and innovative management models that integrate sustainability, technology, and regional governance? The overall objective is to propose a comprehensive regional mobility model based on the integration of road infrastructure, mass transit, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation, particularly through the Horizon Europe program. The methodology combines a mixed approach: quantitative analysis of mobility surveys and traffic data; qualitative assessment through interviews and participatory workshops; prospective modeling of transportation scenarios; and a comparative review of international experiences.
