Translation Quality Assessment

Translation, as the process of preservation of meaning across two languages, is recently under special attention of experts and researchers. Furthermore, there are three types of meaning namely semantic, pragmatic and textual and error Analysis is significant because it can help to improve the teaching and learning process. The present study sets out to find and categorize the semantic and possible syntactic and pragmatic errors in the Persian translation of ''The Alchemist''. Then it tries to analyze the causes of errors and their possible solutions and to investigate collected data of the present study for the relative frequency. The results of this study might presumably help language learners to become conscious of the problems they may face in translating Persian texts. This awareness will help them to improve the quality of their translations.
