Bruce Bowman married into a fortune he can't afford to leave - his wife's family built the company, and the company owns him. Michelle is trapped a different way: a husband with a wandering eye and a boss with a Napoleon complex who thinks every late meeting is an invitation. When they meet at the bar car just after the California Zephyr pulls out of Denver Union Station, it's supposed to be nothing. A drink. A little chemistry.
