One year after surviving the car crash that killed his wife, former Minneapolis detective Ben Kessler struggles to adjust to his new position as a beat cop in a small Minnesota town. When a disagreement with his sergeant lands him on a punitive assignment in nearby Lake City, he runs into not one, but two people from his past-Calvin, an ex-con he'd put behind bars five years ago, and Andrew, the man responsible for the death of Ben's wife.
