U.S. Foreign Policy and Security Operations in Afghan Pak: Editor Muneeb Aurangzeb

This research will try to cover Pakistan's role as front line state in the war on terror and dangers to its security after the incident of 9/11. Indian approach towards Afghanistan, particularly in the background of purposed withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan is a goal of its classic strategic policy towards Pakistan. It is very important for India that Pakistan does not have a hold in Afghanistan affairs. Historically, India has always tried to prevent Pakistan from gaining any domination in Afghanistan. India would like to minimize Pakistani contribution in the Afghan political affairs and to ensure that an orthodox rule of the Taliban does not emerge again. Pakistan, conversely, has viewed Afghanistan as a counter balance to Indian dominance in South Asia. Islamabad views friendly relationship between India and Afghanistan as disadvantageous to its national security interests as the two states border the two sides of Pakistan. Pakistan feels encircled by India on both sides of its borders.
