Successful communication is one of the prerequisites for a functioning constitutional state. Law lives through communication. The meaning of a constitutional provision, and its legal and factual effects, are revealed in a negotiation process involving a wide range of actors. All contributions in the open society of constitutional interpreters must be communicated: only through communicative exchange does the meaning of a legal text and what is implied between the lines unfold. This volume brings together practical, academic, and interdisciplinary perspectives on successful constitutional law communication and experiences from its failure.
