In a world ruled by nobility, the highest station a commoner can hope to achieve is either to become a wealthy merchant, or a high position working for a noble. Veronica, an orphan and, because of her unlikely appearance, 'cursed child,' works tirelessly to improve her lot in life and protect those she loves.
