Under The Spellbound Sky

Brash Stone was never meant to survive sixteen. In her ancient village, women, called Claims, have been vanishing. A young woman named Brash Stone discovers an ancient power, uses it to teach Claims how to spellbind men into kindness, and becomes the first witch. But when her sisterhood twists her magic into something monstrous, Brash must choose: destroy the only family she's ever known, or bind them to the stars in exile. Centuries later, in the 1800s, in a small creepy city called Clark Noir, fifteen-year-old Jacob must raise his three younger siblings after his parents are killed. Two wealthy sisters who despise children adopt them, hiding secrets behind their smiles. As Jacob and his kin follow a mysterious scent tied to the memory of their parents, the dark truth surrounding the sisters emerges. With the Lamplighters, an underground society sworn to fight ancient evil, Clark Noir stands on the brink of war as the sisters' secrets come to light. Brash will die to protect the sons of mankind. The sisters will die to destroy them.
