Under the Terebinth Tree

What if the presence of God isn't hiding in the mountaintop moments, but waiting for you right where you already are?In biblical times, the terebinth tree marked places where ordinary people encountered an extraordinary God -- Abraham under its branches, Gideon called to courage, David readied for battle. In Under the Terebinth Tree, Jamie D. Arney invites you to find your own sacred meeting place with God, one day at a time.Across forty devotions, Jamie weaves Scripture together with the stuff of everyday life -- family stories, classroom moments, unexpected frustrations, hard-earned lessons, and glimpses of grace in ordinary days. Each entry includes reflection questions, journaling space, and a song or video to carry the moment further. The result is a devotional that feels less like a lecture and more like a conversation with a wise, funny friend who has raised four children, taught high schoolers for thirty-five years, and learned -- the hard way, more than once -- what it means to actually listen for God.Whether you move through it sequentially or dip in wherever your day calls for it, Under the Terebinth Tree is an invitation to stop missing God in the mundane and start recognizing Him there.Come sit under the tree, and let's seek His presence together.
