Johnny Herrington was ten years old when his life was torn apart and reshaped by forces beyond his control. After being forced to leave his home, Johnny is placed under the authority of his grandfather who is a powerful man deeply connected to the Ku Klux Klan, a secretive organization built on generational hate, control, and silence. In this isolated world, obedience is law, questioning is dangerous, and survival depends on never stepping out of line.As Johnny grows within this environment of fear and loyalty, he begins to accept everything he is told, until he meets Yah Yah, a girl from a neighboring family caught on the opposite side of long-standing division and racial tension. Their unexpected connection forces Johnny to see cracks in the belief system he has been raised under. Caught between inherited ideology and awakening truth, he must decide whether to remain silent or risk everything to break free from the world he was born into.
