Bol The Psychosocial Care Centre (CAPS) is a care facility involved in a paradigm shift related to the care and assistance of people suffering from mental illness. In this context, the PTS revives the personalised care expressed in the management of treatment in mental health services. This study was conducted at a CAPS in the city of São Paulo and had the following objectives: to identify the repercussions on participants after the introduction of PTS; to analyse which aspects are perceived in care as enablers and hindrances; to offer subsidies for interventions according to the needs of individuals suffering from mental illness. The results revealed that PTS contribute to the improvement of their users as they reduce the number of hospitalisations and build bonds of social integration, but are still far from promoting patients as agents of their own treatment. The enabling aspects of PTS are linked to execution activities, and the hindering aspects are related to verbal activities. In this scenario, we emphasise the importance of systematic re-evaluation of PTS, among other issues to be considered.
