In 1798 a down on his luck Revenue-Marine, Lieutenant is called to active duty with the newly formed United States Navy. Given a commission and the Navy's newest weapon, he is ordered to eliminate French privateering that swept over 300 American merchantmen from the Caribbean and elsewhere. Known as the Quasi-War, the battles, intrigue and secret missions that follow were expected. An impassioned romance with the 'pearl of the Caribbean' was not part of his battle plan.
