After enduring the journey of severe health issues and recovery from them, Matthew returns to writing poetry to give insight on his journey. Beginning in 2020, he was diagnosed with a series of major illnesses that turned out to all be related to one thing, kidney failure. After spending 2022 until the very end of 2024 on dialysis before his transplant, he planned out some reflections on his time while planning for the real possibility that he would not survive. After receiving his transplant, he has spent the last 2 years since reflecting on the new world he finds himself in now. The pain, heartbreak, sorrow, joy, pride, relief, failure, and success of life after his transplant."Views Of A New World" sees Matthew returning to his motive native form of expression, poetry. Distilling much of his thoughts on the experiences into many of the same signature stylings of older collections "Stories I Told Myself," "M.E. & H.E.R. A Love Story," and "Lost In My Whirlwind." Coming in at 80 pages, this new collection covers all new material, written during and after his transplant journey. Each of the book's six sections are organized into similar subject matter but are not in chronological order. After it's completion, he hopes you find a little understanding of the journey itself and what it can do to someone. While also giving you hope for what is possible.
