We are rapidly witnessing a new landscape surrounded by the benefits that technology provides. The great need for communication in modern times, with mobility, is an ever-advancing frontier. This work analyzes the transmission quality of VoIP (Voice over IP) in WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) networks. To achieve this objective, bench tests were performed using the G729, G711, G723, and GSM voice codecs, analyzing their delay and packet loss characteristics. The results presented indicate the effect of wireless network instability phenomena on VoIP performance. These variations reveal significant changes in voice quality depending on the environment used and the distance between the sender and receiver.
