Elisabeth Murawski is a native of Chicago currently living in Alexandria, Virginia. She is a graduate of DePaul University and the MFA program at George Mason University. Her poetry collections are Alias Irene (Fernwood Press, 2026), Heiress (Texas Review Press, 2018), Zorba's Daughter (Utah State University Press, 2010; May Swenson Poetry Award), and Moon and Mercury (Washington Writers' Publishing House, 1990). Her three chapbooks are Still Life with Timex (Texas Review Press, 2021; the Robert Phillips Poetry Chapbook Prize), Out-Patients (Serving House Books, 2010), and Troubled by an Angel (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 1997). Her new book won the James Tate Prize 2025.
