Water quality and dams in the semi arid region of Pernambuco

This book is the result of collaborative work aimed at providing information on the quality of water in dams in the semi-arid region in order to support analysis and relevant decision-making processes. The book is aimed at those with an interest in the issue of water in the semi-arid region. The issue of water recurs in all the studies of production processes that we have looked at. Water is essential for life, strategic for any productive activity and has profound implications for human health and ecosystems in general. The Northeast, and especially the semi-arid region, continues to be the most critical region for national development. The limitation of water resources represents a constraint on the territory's development. Knowing the real situation regarding the quality of water resources is important if we are to identify the impacts on water quality and carry out projects to reduce them in watercourses, especially in the semi-arid region of Pernambuco, where water can be considered a scarce commodity.
