Way Error Rebellion

In the epistle of Jude we read that within the Church there was a negative influence, seeking to corrupt and undermine the beliefs and foundations of the believers there. In addressing the individuals who were responsible for this Jude states: Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. (Jud 1:11) In describing the individuals at fault, Jude specifically refers to three Old Testament events and the individuals who were responsible for them. What did Jude mean by this and what implication did if have to the Church at the time? Does it have any application to believers and the Church today? These are questions that we will seek to answer as we look in the Word of God and examine Jude's statement.
