Bol ‘A thoughtful and unvarnished account of a storied life and career’ Guardian, Best Books of the Year An honest, moving and long-awaited memoir from Academy Award-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins. Growing up in the small Welsh town of Port Talbot, Sir Anthony Hopkins struggled in school and was deemed by his peers and parents to be a failure. But on a fateful Saturday night, he came across the 1948 film adaptation of Hamlet – which changed the course of his life forever. With candour and a voice that is both arresting and vulnerable, Sir Anthony recounts his various career milestones and provides a once-in-a-lifetime look into the brilliance behind some of his most iconic roles, as well as taking a deeply honest look at his personal life and battles with addiction. We Did OK, Kid is a raw and passionate memoir from a complex, iconic man who has inspired audiences with remarkable performances for over sixty years. ‘Honest, thoughtful and surprisingly tender’ Mail on Sunday Sir Anthony Hopkins, Sunday Times bestseller, November 2025
