We Were Together: (Asrarul Haq Majaz, Ansarul Harvani, and Safia Jan Nisar Akhtar)

Hamida Salim (1922-August 16, 2015) was an author, economist, and educator. She was born in Rudauli, in Uttar Pradesh. Her siblings were Asrar-ul-Haq 'Majaz', a notable Urdu poet, Ansar Harvani, a member of the Indian independence movement and an elected Member of Parliament, and Safia Akhtar, a writer and critic. She received her B.A. from I.T. College, Lucknow, M.A. in economics from the Aligarh Muslim University, and a master's in economics from the University of London. She taught in the Women's College and Economics Department at Aligarh Muslim University and at Jamia Millia Islamia. She wrote two popular novels, Parchhaiyon Ke Ujale ("Lights of Shadows") and Hardam Rawan Hai Zindagi ("Life is Always on the Move"), as well as two autobiographical books, Shorish-e-Dauran ("Turbulent Times") and Ham Saath The ("We Were Together"), of which this book is an English translation.
