What Every Pastor Should Know About Marriage

I felt compelled to write this book because several pastor friends of mine have fallen and will probably never serve as ministers again, or shouldn't serve as ministers again.Ephesians 5:22--Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husband. Wouldn't it be nice to just take a scripture and use it to fit your need? In this scripture, you must read it in context and completeness. Now, read it along with the scriptures preceding and following. (Ephesians 5:20-25, King James Version, or KJV) 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. iiiOver 12-plus years, I tried many ways to get this to work, but it wasn't until 1983, when I started asking God to reveal any area in my life that needed improvement, that things started to happen and eventually improve. That's when I allowed God to teach me many of the principles outlined in this book.From my writing, you may conclude that I have become a fanatic and maybe too legalistic. But I believe God has absolutes concerning marriage and the husband/wife relationship.
