What Song Am I?: The Beatles: 1

There are many reasons to love and embrace the songs of the Beatles; but one of the biggest and most important is that every last one of them is distinctive. Moreso than any other band of their time (or, for that matter, any band since), the Beatles managed to avoid repetition in their music. Even their early work, with its relentless attention to boy-girl relationships, endless pronouns and driving dance energy, managed to display novelty in every individual outing. Both lyrically and musically, every Beatle was constantly growing and evolving - and it showed in the music. This Nerd Academy offering showcases that novelty by challenging the Beatles fan to identity Beatles songs based on their individual traits - demonstrating that every song has a unique signature, be it in its origin, its inspiration, its musical features, its lyrical meaning, the innovations in its recording, or its eventual impact. Are you a true fan? Think you know the music inside out? Then dig into these 80 songs, and see how many you can identify!
