What the Current Leaves: A Gay Romantic Suspense Thriller

Rescue diver Caleb Keating knows what the river can do to a body. What he doesn't expect is to recognize the man he pulls from beneath a bridge. Wesley Quinn once sat beside Caleb in the grief group he attended after his brother Aiden drowned. Now Wesley is dead, a strange injury marks his wrist, and homicide detective Theo Rourke isn't convinced the river is the whole story. Then another member of the group turns up dead. The trail leads back six years to the drowning of Cameron Baird-Aiden's boyfriend and a probationary firefighter whose death was ruled an accident. Aiden never believed that story. Caleb did. Until now. Working with Theo means reopening the questions Caleb once begged his brother to leave alone. Old witness statements don't match. Money changed hands after Cameron died. People Caleb has known for years are hiding things. And somewhere inside Aiden's unfinished investigation is a truth two men have already died protecting. As professional friction between Caleb and Theo gives way to something neither man planned for, the case reaches closer to Caleb's firehouse, his past, and the people he trusts most. Someone has already killed to keep an old secret underwater. And the closer Caleb gets to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes to discover what the current couldn't erase. A gay romantic suspense thriller about buried secrets, first responders, dangerous trust, and the truths that refuse to stay underwater.
