What the Furlough?

In this powerful and deeply personal journey, I share how the furlough became one of the most defining chapters of my life. What began as an abrupt loss of stability quickly unfolded into a season of emotional, spiritual, and financial upheaval. The decisions made by those in power felt from the top down left me disheartened, shaken, and forced to confront a harsh reality: my future could not rest in the hands of any man.But in the midst of uncertainty, something inside me awakened. The furlough opened my eyes to the importance of showing up, speaking up, and taking ownership of my voice. It taught me the power of voting, the impact of leadership, and the danger of complacency. It pushed me to rebuild my foundation not on systems or promises that could fail, but on faith, resilience, and the determination never again to allow anyone to pull the rug from under my feet.
