What We Built: Jersey City Rising

Five years after his release from prison, Jared Mitchell faces an impossible choice: rebuild a life that society has already written off for him, or surrender to the streets that raised him. With Tasha at his side-his partner since childhood and the only person who believes he can change-Jared opens The Foundation, a small restaurant in Jersey City that becomes a beacon for their struggling community. What starts as a desperate gamble transforms into an empire: four thriving locations, millions in generational wealth, and a scholarship foundation bearing their name. But success demands a price. As their business explodes, Jared and Tasha face an investor who demands they sacrifice everything-including their values-for profit. When Tasha becomes pregnant with their daughter Amara, they must answer the hardest question of all: What are we really building? A powerful story about redemption, partnership, and choosing what matters most, What We Built: Jersey City Rising explores what it takes to build a legacy that lasts-and what you have to be willing to lose to keep it.
