Where's the Cue Ball Going?

John Virgo wrote what was the memoir he had always wanted to write before his untimely death in February 2026. In this light-hearted and witty look at a life in snooker, Virgo recounts the ups and downs of his years in the sport. Interspersed with poignant and witty recollections from Ken Doherty, Dennis Taylor, Steve Davis, John Parrott, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy and Jimmy White, Where's the Cue Ball Going? unravels the life of a legend. Known for his catchphrases in commentary and his lively impressions of other players, Virgo was inducted into the World Snooker Tour Hall of Fame in 2023. He passed away in February 2026 at his home in Spain, aged 79. A special invitational tournament, the 2026 John Virgo Trophy, was held in April 2026 as a tribute to his life and work as one of the world's greatest snooker players.
