WHERE THE CHURCH BELLS END

Some towns teach you how to belong. Bellweather teaches Eli Mercer how to disappear. At nineteen, Eli knows how to be the son his family expects: quiet, dependable, and careful never to ask why the life mapped out for him feels so small. Then a summer job restoring the town's long-shuttered theater brings him into the orbit of Daniel Hart, the guarded thirty-four-year-old music director whose attention feels dangerous precisely because it is careful. Daniel refuses to become an escape route for a young man still learning how to choose. Yet as music returns to the empty stage, their connection awakens questions Eli can no longer silence. In a town where church bells mark every hour and everyone knows where everyone else belongs, Eli must choose between the safety of being known and the risk of becoming himself. Where the Church Bells End is an intimate LGBTQ+ coming-of-age romance about first love, family expectations, responsible boundaries, and the courage to leave home before deciding where - and with whom - you belong.
