Where We Never Went

Where We Never Went is an intimate and deeply emotional story about love when it stops being a refuge and becomes a test.Through the honest voice of its protagonist, this novel explores a relationship shaped by intensity, distance, desire, and the gradual loss of one's own voice. It is the portrait of someone who loved wholeheartedly, who mistook intensity for permanence, and who learned, perhaps too late, that loving someone does not always mean staying. With a poetic, tender, and unflinching narrative, Carlos Chavez-Boehler writes about the body as territory, intimacy as a language, and pain as an unwilling teacher. Where We Never Went offers no heroes or villains, only real people trying to hold together something that has already begun to break-even when doing so means losing themselves in the process. This novel offers no easy answers and no neatly tied endings. Instead, it is an emotional journey for those who have loved deeply, for those who have felt themselves disappearing inside a relationship, and for anyone who understands that some stories do not fail; they simply lead us to places where we still do not know how to stay.A book to read slowly, to recognize yourself in, and ultimately, to let go.
