It began as a rumor, then it became an urban legend. For generations, many said it was witchcraft, demonic, and from Satan himself. They were called witches, imprisoned, stoned to death, and burned at the stake. They suffered unimaginable horrors at the hands of those who feared them. But in reality, it was a gift from God. When Jesus walked the earth, twelve disciples followed Him. History leads us to believe that the disciples were all men, but women followed Jesus too. They, too, were given gifts of the Spirit, just as the men were. All were instructed by Jesus to go forth and heal the sick and dying. And one woman did as she was told; her name was Tirzah. The gift was handed from mother to daughter, and with each generation there was only one woman who had the gift. She would always give birth to one child, a girl. No matter the circumstance, the woman would always give birth. The line could not be broken. When the woman was called upon to share her gift, it was always a shock. The contrast between the woman's soft, tanned skin and the white of her tears that poured from her eyes was mesmerizing. A person could not look away from the miracle that flowed forth to heal. Follow the women through the generations as they tell their story, the story of White Tears.
