Why I Wasn't Fired at Xerox is about opportunity. I wanted to follow in the footsteps of the early pioneers of Haloid Corporation (now Xerox Corporation) to do the right thing.From 1965 to 1995, in the heydays of Xerox Corporation, I held many engineering positions, including managing various projects and was a Reliability Manager with the Xerox Manufacturing and Development Program.As you read the Preface, Introduction, the section "My Philosophy with Engineering" and each of the chapters, you will gain a deeper understanding to grasp the complex issues I had to deal with. These choices were always carefully thought out to enable a manufacturing line to have less disruptions. My style was not always appreciated but I would only break the rules for the good of the company and hopefully inspire longer term harmony.In essence I believe this was what Joe Wilson, the founder of Xerox Corporation wanted most.
