With Christ in The School of Prayer - 31-Day Devotional (Modern English): Andrew Murray on Training for Ministry Intercession

Andrew Murray's classic teaching on prayer, now brought into clear, contemporary English.Far more than a book about prayer, With Christ in the School of Prayer is an invitation to walk more closely with Christ and to discover how prayer reaches into every part of the Christian life. And it is a challenge to persist in prayer and not accept 'No' for an answer.Andrew Murray writes with a depth of biblical knowledge, spiritual conviction, and insight that is rarely found in Christian writing. He explores prayer in the context of faith, dependence, obedience, humility, fellowship with God, and the believer's daily walk with Christ. His teaching is searching, practical, and challenging-yet full of encouragement and hope. This edition makes Murray's work fully accessible to the modern reader. The original's archaic language with long sentences and even longer paragraphs has been removed, and the meaning carefully expressed in natural, contemporary English. The theology remains deep. The message remains uncompromising. The powerful truth in almost every sentence, no longer obscured by 19th-century packaging, can now land with the power Murray intended. For readers accustomed to modern Christian books, this edition opens the door to a writer whose understanding of the spiritual life has a depth and richness and uncompromising call that is difficult to find today.Written more than a century ago, yet strikingly relevant today, With Christ in the School of Prayer offers something increasingly rare: Christian writing that is accessible without being superficial, profound without being obscure, and challenging without losing sight of grace. And deeply, deeply biblical.
