Tuscany, with its breathtaking expanses and warm southern light, lies at the centre of Wolfgang Balk’s inspiration. After many years as a publisher, he set up his studio in this region of Italy so deeply shaped by the Middle Ages, and there he captures the magic of the landscape in watercolours and oils. The colours of his palette are expanded through rare pigments and self-made paints.
