Words of Life 2 Life: MayAugust 2026

This edition of Words of Life focuses on the theme of ‘Life on the edge’. Throughout our daily lives we all face challenges: some are surmountable and others stretch us to our limits. It is during the difficult times that we lean more heavily upon the Lord and find that he hears and answers our call. The book begins by exploring the final books of the Old Testament, briefly considering each of the minor prophets – whose lives were never easy – and later moves on to individuals in the Bible whose circumstances were also pressured, revealing how they survived and how God held them. Around the time of Pentecost, our thoughts are guided by two guest writers: Major Filipa Viriato, a Portuguese officer currently serving in the UK, and Major Tom Kristiansen from Norway. The majority of the Sunday readings feature reflections upon a variety of songs from The Song Book of The Salvation Army.
