Born in Covington to Mary and Eugene Gilstrap, Elder Julia G. Edon is a devoted minister, teacher, and leader whose life has been marked by faith, service, and a passion for empowering others through the Word of God. A loving mother of two, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of five, she has dedicated her life to ministry, leadership, and community outreach for more than five decades.Educated in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration, Elder Edon further expanded her training through studies in pastoral counseling, divine principles, and church leadership. Called into ministry at an early age, she received her ministerial credentials in 1970 and was ordained in 1994. Throughout her distinguished journey, she has faithfully served in numerous leadership roles at the local, district, state, and national levels within the church.Elder Edon has also served on several respected civic and faith-based organizations, including the American Clergy Leadership Conference and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Her dedication to promoting unity and spiritual growth earned her Ambassador for Peace awards in both Israel and Washington, D.C. Through her ministry and leadership, she continues to inspire lives and glorify God around the world.
