Bol The cover of this animated journal is Kusama’s work Love is Calling—a kaleidoscopic environment of tentacle-like forms covered in the artist’s characteristic polka dots. As endpapers, this journal pulls from Kusama’s iconic painting series, My Eternal Soul. Fear of Youth Overwhelmed by the Spring Time of Life opens the endpapers while Far Away Country of Death closes the journal. Her quintessential polka dots, organic shapes, and optical environments display an unparalleled vitality that becomes hypnotic and self-referential, merging concepts of flatness and depth, presence and absence, and beauty and the sublime. These paintings serve as the perfect motivation for any artistic block or creative pursuit. Also included in his journal is an inspiring quote about creativity from Kusama’s poetry. Made in close collaboration with the artist, this journal is a one of a kind opportunity to “own” the work of the most fascinating artists of our time.
