Lev Aharon is a post-high school Orthodox yeshivah located in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, Israel. Its goal is to emphasize the primacy of high level Torah study. The student body is composed of young men mostly of Sephardic Jewish background. Although a majority of the student body hail from the U.S, notably Brooklyn, NY, over the past couple of years there have been an increasing number of students coming from around the globe including Panama, United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, Italy, and Israel.There are currently about 75 students in Yeshivat Lev Aharon, all of whom eat, sleep, and study within the school's facilities. The school is headed by Rabbi David Laniado, an American-born Syrian Jew who has resided in Israel for the past 17 years. The Yeshiva has a broad of array of Jewish studies including the studying of the Talmud, Torah, Mishnah, Mussar works, Jewish Law,and Jewish philosophy. Additionally, students are required to attend prayers three times a day: morning, afternoon, and evening.
